About Botanical Plant-Based Fare

Charlottesville is in Virginia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Charlottesville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The sweet potato bowl was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve eaten in my whole life. And by the way, I am not a vegan. But it had all the flavors and textures were so excellent and I would love to be able to re-create something like this at home or eat it from here every day if I could afford to.

We were meeting our daughters from Lynchburg for dinner and we are in Fredericksburg. I had to find a place to eat for all of us. We have one daughter with severe nut allergies. Another one with gluten and soy issues as well as my own dietary issues. They accommodated us wonderfully and the food was exceptional. Will definitely return!!!

I was very excited! Ordered the oyster sandwich with the house kale side salad. Turns out salad had no kale in it and the sandwich had barely any oyster mushrooms (see picture of what I received versus the ads of it on social media). Maybe they only give big portions if you dine in versus taking out? No response when I reached out. Crozet location is wonderful though!

I ate at Botanical several years ago, right after they first opened. I stopped by and grabbed food to go when I was passing through a few weeks ago. Still as tasty and amazingly delicious as ever! Even if you aren’t veg-they do an amazing job at making healthy food taste even better than anything else you can eat! Highly recommend the Gochu Corn and crunchy cauliflower bowl!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clean, creative, and full of heart I’m not vegan, but I love food that’s healthy, clean, and made with intention — and this place nailed it. I ordered the Gochu Street Corn plate and the Miso Mac & Cheese, and both were standout dishes. The Gochu Street Corn was bright and flavorful, with a subtle spiciness that complemented (not overpowered) the sweetness of the corn. It had just the right amount of zip without being overwhelming. The Miso Mac & Cheese was creamy and comforting, yet felt lighter and more thoughtful than a typical mac & cheese. The miso brought a depth and savory twist I didn’t expect — in the best way. Visually, everything was beautifully plated. You could tell care went into arranging the ingredients so each element had space to shine. The atmosphere added to the experience: relaxed, welcoming, and with a vibe that feels intentional (in décor, music, lighting) — not trying too hard, just right. The service was warm and unobtrusive. If you’re seeking a place that pushes beyond “just tasty” to “meaningful and mindful,” this spot deserves a try. I’ll be coming back for sure.
